Kfar Saba runs its own online registration for city gans and schools. The windows are in the winter for the following September, so if you arrive mid-year, contact the Education Service Centre at 135 Weizmann St straight away (Mon and Wed 08:30-13:00, Tue 16:00-18:00; phone 09-7649244) (municipality (opens in a new tab)).
2027-28: dates not published yet
On 9 October 2026 the municipality had not yet published registration dates for the 2027-28 school year (5788). The national registration dates are set each year; as a guide, the 2026-27 timetable was:

Gan (ages 3-6)
City gans take children from age 3. The municipality's gans are either 3-year-old (tet-tet-chet) gans or two-age gans for 4 and 5-year-olds. For 2026-27 the cohorts were: gan chova born in 2021, pre-chova 2022 and pre-pre-chova 2023 (gan registration (opens in a new tab)).
- Register every year, even if your child is already in a city gan.
- Placement follows your registered address: state gans are zoned and you cannot be placed outside your area. When a gan is oversubscribed, a lottery decides; the date you registered within the window does not matter.
- Registration has two parts: you first enter your educational preferences, then choose from the gans that match.
- There is no tuition for ages 3-5 under the free education law; insurance, meals, transport and extra programmes (tal'an) are still charged.
The municipality publishes an up-to-date Excel list of gans (dated 3 August 2026 for 2026-27) and a separate list of recognised unofficial gans on the same page (gan registration (opens in a new tab)).
First grade
Registration is online only and works only when the address is updated on both parents' ID cards. Married parents attach a copy of one parent's ID with its address appendix; a single parent fills in a separate form. Children born in 2020 registered for 2026-27 (first grade (opens in a new tab)).
Kfar Saba uses a "Merhavei Chinuch" controlled-choice model, and schools hold open days before registration (in January-February 2026 they ran in two rounds, 08:30-09:45 and 10:15-11:30). The Democratic School (Ya'akov Hazan) and the "HaChofesh Lihyot" Montessori school are city-wide schools with their own admission process (first grade (opens in a new tab)).
New residents register during the window with the "register as resident" link on the registration site, attaching the required documents; there is also an online new-resident form on the municipal site (first grade (opens in a new tab)). For grade 7, new residents need de-registration from their previous authority, a rental or purchase contract, an arnona payment and both parents' IDs (middle school (opens in a new tab)).
Middle and high school
The structure is primary (grades 1-6), separate middle schools (7-9) and upper high schools (10-12). In the state-religious stream, girls from the Bar-Ilan and Shilo schools go on to HaRel and boys to Torah VeMada (middle school (opens in a new tab)). Grade 10 places outside your anchor school are decided by lottery (high school (opens in a new tab)).
After school and under-3s
- Nitzanim tzaharonim (primary schools): until 17:00, two professional classes a week and hot meals supervised by a clinical dietitian. Registration for 2026-27 closed on 31 May 2026; a waiting list is open. Service centre 09-7640881, Sun, Tue, Thu 08:30-13:00 (Nitzanim (opens in a new tab)).
- Yula afternoons in long-day gans: the early childhood department (09-7640827, Sun, Tue, Thu 09:00-12:00) publishes the programme booklet (Yula (opens in a new tab)).
- August gan camps: in 2026 they ran 2-13 August, Sun-Thu 07:30-16:30, for 1,620 NIS for 10 days, with registration closing on 23 June (camps (opens in a new tab)).
- Daycare (0-3): the municipal Yaldut BaKfar network has five daycares: Ma'on 60 (16 Meir Ariel St), Ma'on 80 (16 Sapir St), Rapaport (2 Rapaport St), Sapir (6 David Elazar St) and Hadarim (24 Derech Kdumim). Registration is by space available, directly with each daycare (Yaldut BaKfar (opens in a new tab)).
English, French and Russian speakers
We found no English-, French- or Russian-language school or gan in Kfar Saba, and no municipal page describing a dedicated kids' ulpan. What the city does offer:
- the Pele programme, which strengthens immigrant middle and high-school pupils in core subjects (NBN (opens in a new tab));
- 50% off municipal enrichment classes in school for the first two years after aliyah, and free municipal sports classes for children in year one (absorption department (opens in a new tab));

- a French-speaking coordinator in the absorption department for French olim (absorption department (opens in a new tab)).
